How to Be on Instagram Without Burnout (A Calmer Approach for Holistic Wellness Businesses)
If you’re a therapist, coach, or holistic practitioner who is craving a way to show up on Instagram without burnout, one that honors your energy and your values… this post is for you.
You close your laptop, take a deep breath, and bask in the feeling of relief that comes with having gotten next week’s posts and reels scheduled, ready to go. You’ve created content in your different pillars, scheduled them for the ideal times, poured your heart into each caption, and made sure your Instagram grid will look nice. You feel pretty good about it.
Then your smile slips a little bit when it hits you that you’ve got to do the same thing all over again next week. And the week after that…
You might enjoy certain aspects, like writing those captions or coming up with fun ways to share your amazing knowledge and wisdom with your audience. But you’re tired of feeling like you’re always chasing, never quite grasping. Always performing, always wondering if your next post will be “the one” that finally goes viral. Always fighting social media burnout while hearing a whisper in the back of your mind that says you’re feeling overwhelmed for a reason.
It’s too much.
Especially for us: the healers, the guides, the empaths, the nurturers. We weren’t wired for this constant pressure to meet the expectations of a fickle algorithm designed by people who want us to stay hooked on their apps. We became therapists, coaches, yoga teachers, chiropractors, somatic therapists — for a reason!
To guide people toward wellness. Toward healing.
We didn’t step into the holistic wellness space to be a slave to social media. To feel pressured to perform or else.
I know I certainly didn’t. And I know I’m not the only one.
Energy vs. Algorithm
As someone who lives with chronic illness and the daily struggle of not knowing how much energy I’ll have each day, I’ve had to become extremely intentional in the areas I choose to focus in my business.
If you’re only just discovering me through this blog post, you may not know that I’m a website designer and alignment coach. Either one could be a full-time career, I know. But I felt called to be both, so here I am. And somehow I’m managing to hold space for both callings while remaining aligned with my vision and honoring my own wellbeing.
You know what unlocked the door for me, allowing me to get to this place?
Permission to accept that the social media grind is not aligned with who I am or the soul of the work I’m doing. And that the deep conviction I felt that there was another way — that I could have a presence on Instagram without burnout — meant the answer existed somewhere. I just had to find it.
The key dropped into my lap one day when I was (ironically) scrolling Instagram on my business account. I’ve been very intentional in curating the content there to be full of encouragement for entrepreneurs, wellness tips, etc so that it’s a safe place I can go when I need a boost.
Well, the algorithm blessed me that day by showing me an ad from someone by the name of Kate Kordsmeier, who I had never heard of before. Something about a 9-Grid? A tool that would allow me to have a presence on Instagram without posting constantly?? That got my attention. I thought —
“What if there really is a way that I can be present on social media which does not ask me to betray myself, my values, or my wellbeing?”
Before I knew it, I’d purchased the course and was digging in, equal parts excitement, curiosity, and skepticism. Could this be the aligned answer I was seeking for a truly sustainable Instagram strategy? Was it too good to be true?
Spoiler: it wasn’t too good to be true. And Kate’s course made it feel safe to explore this completely new-to-me concept.
What is a 9-Grid?
In case you haven’t heard the term before, an Instagram 9-Grid is a set of 9 static posts that, in Kate’s words, ”serves as a perfect welcome mat, showcasing your brand and inviting clients in, without the daily hustle.” (I’m pretty sure that was the exact sentence that had me looking for the sign-up button.)
You mean I can go through this course, learn how to craft 9 posts that share everything someone needs to know about my work, and then rest… instead of constantly worrying about coming up with new Instagram content?
Yes, that’s exactly what she meant. And that’s exactly what I learned in the course. By the way, it’s called “Beyond the Scroll 9-Grid: The Never-Post-Again Instagram Strategy That Grows Your List + Sales”. It lives up to its name, too.
The course gave me so much hope. I remember at one point, I almost started crying with relief when I realized that you actually can be free of social media burnout. You can build a thriving business as a therapist, coach, etc, without selling your soul to the algorithm.
I felt so energized and refreshed as I went through the lessons. Kate does such a great job of giving you everything you need to know to take the next right step without overwhelming you. And the tools she includes with the course were literally exactly the level of support my brain needed as it started recovering from the stress and burnout. And once I got to the part where I was writing captions and designing the 9 graphics, I felt confident and ready.
Thanks to Kate, I now have a calm, aligned Instagram presence that does indeed function as my digital welcome mat, gently guiding visitors through the front door to my website in such a way that they feel like they know me by the time they step in.
No more social media burnout.
No more posting and then anxiously checking the numbers.
No more feeling discouraged when my post didn’t perform like I hoped.
Why I think every founder in the holistic wellness space needs this course
Now that I have a sustainable Instagram strategy that supports my values and honors my limited time and energy, I feel so much peace about my online presence. And I want every single one of you to feel it too.
I was so very eager to share this with my clients that I immediately applied to be an affiliate with Kate’s company, Success With Soul, and I am so proud to say that I was accepted! With that being said, if you feel the pull toward taking this step out of the social media grind, my link here will take you directly to the course page to learn more about how it can change your life. It would mean the world to me to know that I was part of you discovering this freedom for yourself!
Because this work sits at the intersection of brand identity and design, I offer 9-Grid design to my website clients who have completed Kate’s course with clarity on the content they wish to share, but would like help with the visual side.
This support from me is entirely separate from Kate’s course and is not necessary in order for you to benefit from her work. I’m sharing it simply because design can be an area of overwhelm for many people — and for some, having help with the visual implementation makes it easier to follow through without Instagram taking up more energy than it needs to.
Final Thoughts
For many of us in the holistic wellness space, the work we do asks us to be so present, regulated, and dialed in. It’s a lot, and the last thing we need is to be tied to something that distracts us from what matters most. So if you’ve been feeling this weariness around social media, know that it’s very real, and you’re not alone in it.
I see you, and I know exactly how you feel.
Finding an approach that lets Instagram quietly support my work changed everything. And thanks to Kate’s course, learning how to be present on social media without burnout brought a sense of calm I didn’t know was possible as a business owner.
I truly believe that this clarity, simplicity, and sustainability are available to you too.
Until next time!
