Why Every Holistic Wellness Professional Should Invest in Website Design
Ask me why having a good website design is so important, and I will begin a monologue on the many reasons—I am that passionate about educating professionals on this subject, and that is what’s led me to write this blog article. I tried to keep it short n sweet in case you don’t have a lot of time or attention to spare, so drop me a comment if this is something you’d like to see me write more in-depth on in the future!

You know how you like to make sure your office is in order before a client appointment, especially a new client?
I always say that your website should follow this same principle so that when people visit for the first time, they form an accurate impression of you. So in short, your website is your online office.

When you’re talking to someone, you can probably tell pretty quickly if their personality and overall vibe will mesh with yours, right?
The same can be said of how you present yourself through your website — after forming an initial impression and deciding to learn more about you, people need to be able to encounter an authentic representation of you so that you connect with your ideal clients.
-
Remember that time you wanted to make a purchase on a website and you got flustered because you couldn’t figure something out because the website design wasn’t user-friendly?
That’s how people feel when they visit a website that’s not designed well. Maybe they loved a post you made on socials and want to learn more about you, but your site is not user-friendly… so they might give up without ever making contact with you.
-
Can you think back to a time when you were trying to decide between a few different companies for something you needed to purchase, and the impact their online presence might’ve had on your decision?
I would bet that no matter what industry you’re in in the holistic wellness space, you’re not the only one. You know what makes you unique from everyone else, but communicating that to potential clients is where the challenge lies.
Throughout my market research when I was launching this studio, I was very shocked to find that the vast majority of professionals in this space do not have really good websites. And by the end of my research, it got to the point where I was surprised if I actually found someone who did have a great site!!
That being said, depending on your industry, it might be easier than you think to stand out — just having a website which meets current accessibility and design standards might be the boost you’ve been looking for!
-
Did you know that there are guidelines for websites which help to maintain accessibility for people with visual disabilities, impairments, etc so that they can receive the benefit of the goods and services they need?
There sure are! A mark of a great designer is understanding this and making sure the sites they design meet these requirements — or else, technically, the party with the inaccessible website could face lawsuits for discrimination under the ADA. This is especially crucial for the holistic wellness space!!

Have you ever gone to a website whose design made you question if the people running the business actually knew what they were doing?
You don’t want potential clients to feel this way about you, and having a website which meets current design standards and trends can mitigate those doubts.
This is important with any business, but especially in wellness because of how deeply personal this work is. The level of trust it takes for people to say yes to what you offer is high, and a truly authentic, well-made website can help build that trust!

All of the prior points I’ve covered, along with more I can dive into in another article, ultimately come together to promote the growth of your business.
By being able to provide a user-friendly experience for everyone and connect with the right people, you are able to amplify your impact and touch more lives. Not only does this support your mission and vision, but it empowers you to be the best and grow your income doing what you are passionate about.
Thanks so much for reading! I’d love to know which of these key points you hadn’t thought of, and how it’s impacted your view of your own website!
Until next time,
